President's Letter

CODI has hit the ground running so far this year… The Enhancements Committee has been working with Dynix to clean up the enhancement database. We have started a membership drive, voted on By-laws, worked on the CODI website, developed an SQL depository, updated regional contacts, worked on Special Interest Group committees, not to mention the conference! I have to commend all of the board members for their hard work. There is so much going on and the Board is the best!

Working on the Board has been extremely enlightening and very beneficial to me professionally. If you have not considered volunteering for the board I would suggest it. You don't have to be President as there are lots of other areas where we could use you. If you are interested, please send Vicki Teal-Lovely vtl@scls.lib.wi.us a note so we can get your name and information for consideration.

We are also planning many items for the remainder of the year. We hope to develop the Special Interest Groups a little more so we can work with Dynix on special areas and get a better focus with the enhancements to make sure they are equitable to all different types of libraries. There will be more on this to come… The Board is actively working with the conference planner to identify future conference sites. Thanks to all that filled out the survey. It is extremely helpful for future planning.

I know we are all waiting for Horizon 8.0 to see how the product has been enhanced to make our lives better. The Board is actively working with Dynix to make sure they are aware of our collective concerns.

If you have any questions or concerns you want to share with me, feel free to email me. I'm here to serve the membership.
