Scholarships

COSUGI and SirsiDynix are pleased to offer sholarships to attend the COSUGI Conference. Both scholarships require the applicant to be a COSUGI member. 

 

COSUGI First Time Attendee Scholarship

This award is designed to allow COSUGI members who have never attended a COSUGI conference, the opportunity to attend the annual conference. Winners will receive a complimentary registration (lunches included), reimbursement toward travel to and from the conference destination (up to $300), and three hotel room nights at the conference hotel. The winner shall be awarded the scholarship based on the member’s community participation, benefit to the member and the member’s institution, and financial need.
 

 

2019 Scholarship Awardee: Laura Adams

The winner of the 2019 COSUGI First Time Attendee Scholarship is Laura Adams, Librarian II-Cataloging and Database Management for the Palm Beach County Library System.

Commenting on her job, Laura says, "Being a cataloger excites me because it speaks to my deep-down value and need for information to be ordered, classified and accessible. It is my goal to impact my library system and to nurture my career in technical services."

Laura looks forward to meeting you, stating, "My need to connect with the SirsiDynix community and other catalogers has never been greater as I look towards colleagues and mentors to help me navigate the field. As I develop professionally I will apply new knowledge and contribute regularly to improve my library system."

Laura's excited about the COSUGI conference. "This conference will help me to build a professional network of skilled colleagues and willing mentors who could show me how to grow technically and provide the best examples of how to be a good cataloger for my library. "

SirsiDynix Sponsored Attendee Scholarship 

This award is designed to allow COSUGI members who may need financial assistance to attend the COSUGI conference. Winners will receive reimbursement for conference registration (lunches included), reimbursement toward air travel to and from the conference destination from points of origin within North America, and three hotel room nights at the conference hotel. In exchange for the scholarship, winners must attend the conference and present one program session of their choosing, approved by the COSUGI Conference Selection Committee that will benefit SirsiDynix Users.  The program may be on any topic excepting presentations about products that directly compete with SirsiDynix products.
